Danteshwari Temple is located in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh near the confluence of the rivers Dankini and Shankhini. The idol of Mata in the temple is made of black granite stone. The idol of Danteshwari Mata has 6 arms, out of which in the right hands are conch, khadag and trident respectively, in the left hands are bell, padma and demon respectively. There is a silver umbrella over the idol, the clothes are embellished with ornaments.King Annam Dev of Warangal state got the Danteshwari temple built in the fourteenth century. This temple is considered to be the 52nd Shakti Peeth. After the construction of this temple, many kings got the temple renovated. Last time it was renovated in the year 1932-33 by Maharani Prafulla Kumari Devi of Bastar princely state.
