Sculptures of historical importance are installed in the Nag Mandir of Nagfani, located at a distance of about 30 KMs from the district headquarters. Apart from the two idols of Nag Devta, there are statues of Lord Ganesh, Lord Rama, Lord Shiva, Lord Surya Narayan. According to the experts, the idols scattered in the surrounding area were collected by the villagers and the Nag temple was built. The Chhindak Nagvanshi kings have ruled the Bastar region in the historical times. The statues found in the area give a glimpse of the Nagvanshi rule. The architecture of the grand temples established by the Nagvanshi kings in the 11th century is unmatched. Every year on the occasion of Sawan and Nag Panchami, special worship is done in this temple in which devotees from far and wide reach.
