The famous Ghotpal Mela, which give a glimpse of multicolored tribal culture in celebrated in village Ghotpal; located in Geedam block. It is the first fair to be celebrated in a season in the entire South Bastar region. Ghotpal Mela is considered the bigger gathering, after which such fairs are held at other places continuously till the arrival of monsoons in a season. The Ghotpal Mela is held only on Tuesdays. Villagers adoring square and peacock feathers dancing with the deities on their shoulders, makes this event even more special. Before filling the big fair, for a fortnight, the local tribals perform Dev Jagran by playing drums daily in the evening. On the day of Bada Mela, the dance sequence goes on throughout the night with drums, then the next day the Gods and Goddesses are given farewell by the villagers.
